El viaje por el románico del Valle de Arán y Andorra conduce al corazón de uno de los conjuntos artísticos más singulares del Pirineo. En estos valles aislados, las comunidades levantaron templos humildes pero profundamente expresivos, testigos de una fe que encontró en la arquitectura y la pintura su forma más genuina de espiritualidad.
En el Valle de Arán, se pueden contemplar joyas como la iglesia de Sant Andreu de Salardú, con su imponente campanario lombardo, y la de Sant Miquèu de Vielha, que conserva un magnífico Cristo románico tallado en madera. También se visita Santa Eulària d’Unha, donde las pinturas murales evocan un universo medieval poblado de símbolos, santos y escenas bíblicas que reflejan la forma de sentir de un pueblo.
Antes de poner rumbo a Andorra, se hará una parada en la Seu d’Urgell, gran puerta histórica hacia los Pirineos orientales. Su catedral de Santa María, único ejemplo de catedral románica conservada en Cataluña, permite apreciar la transición entre el románico y el gótico. Pasear por su claustro y su entorno episcopal ayuda a comprender el peso espiritual y político que tuvo esta ciudad como sede obispal y núcleo estratégico en la ruta pirenaica.
Después se cruza a Andorra, donde el románico revela su vertiente más sobria y montañesa. En Sant Serni de Canillo se conoce la evolución histórica de uno de los enclaves religiosos más importantes del valle, y en Sant Miquel d’Engolasters se disfruta de un testimonio perfecto del románico pirenaico más austero y evocador.
Este viaje no se limita a una visita artística: constituye un encuentro con un tiempo en el que la fe, el paisaje y las personas dieron forma a un románico auténtico, íntimo y profundamente humano.
