En la Antigüedad, la mimesis constituyó un procedimiento y un objetivo artístico, pero también sirvió de marco conceptual para interpretar el mundo y de principio fundacional en la representación fiel de imágenes. A menudo se ha afirmado que el arte medieval estaba desvinculado de este modelo interpretativo y de las técnicas mecánicas asociadas. Sin embargo, la producción de imágenes de culto que se ceñían estrictamente a la forma del arquetipo espiritual conformó un modo específico de mímesis cristiana. Desde finales del siglo XII las descripciones plásticas comenzaron a observar criterios formales que actualizaban el arte de las dinastías flavia y antonina para alumbrar obras guiadas por el logro de un naturalismo emergente. Desde ese punto de partida, las formas miméticas en el arte fueron resultado de una nueva observación de las herencias artísticas previstas, pero también de una afinada observación de las manifestaciones de la realidad creada. Esa atención no produjo una distorsión en la actitud devocional ante las imágenes. Al contrario, registraba con creciente precisión los perfiles de la creación divina. Pero yendo más allá, al convertir a las imágenes en paradójicas duplicaciones del mundo, se introdujo un interrogante nuevo: la mayor de las naturalidades era acaso la puerta hacia una artificialidad consumada. La veracidad ilustraba al tiempo que confundía, porque la aspiración de toda ficción es alcanzar una similitud difícilmente distinguible de la realidad observable.

Este coloquio constituye una convocatoria abierta a aquellos investigadores que deseen presentar los resultados de sus análisis en esta materia. Los interesados deberán enviar un resumen del contenido de su comunicación, con una extensión máxima de 2 páginas DIN A4, a espacio sencillo (letra Times New Roman, de 12 puntos), además de una breve selección de las referencias bibliográficas fundamentales en las que se apoyará su discurso. El plazo para la recepción de los resúmenes finalizará el 10 de julio y se informará sobre la aceptación o no de la comunicación a partir del 20 de julio. En el caso de las admitidas se hará saber, igualmente, el tiempo disponible para su exposición en público, la extensión requerida para su publicación y las normas de edición.
Los investigadores cuyas comunicaciones hayan sido admitidas para su lectura abonarán una tasa de 50 €
